Our Why

Community is an integral part of our lives and it is important to be informed about the issues that affect us. The United Peachtree Corners Civic Association (UPCCA) serves as a non-partisan civic organization which looks out for the interests of its residents in the city of Peachtree Corners. Membership consists of individuals, businesses, and subdivisions who share a common goal to protect and improve quality of life within the community.

The UPCCA works hard to monitor land use rezoning, transportation systems, public safety matters, education initiatives, and other significant topics pertaining to our members. By working together with local officials at both the county and city levels regarding these issues, we are able to achieve united goals for our community. Through this unified effort we are able to ensure that all voices are heard when decisions need to be made about changes or improvements within their area.

Community involvement is essential in order for people living in any given area to feel connected with each other and invested in making positive change happen around them; this connection can only come from being informed on what's going on locally so that people can make educated decisions about how to get involved and take action when needed. The UPCCA seeks to foster this sense of community by providing resources and tools for its members to stay up to date on the changes and topics being discussed which pertain to Peachtree Corners' residents.

The UPCCA encourages everyone to get involved and be a part of this united effort! Together, we can make our community better for all who live here. Join the United Peachtree Corners Civic Association today and help us create a brighter future for our city!

United Peachtree Corners Civic Association (UPCCA) Was Established In 1993 In Response To Land Use Concerns In The Unincorporated Part Of Western Gwinnett County Known As Peachtree Corners. Homeowners Joined Together To Form UPCCA, An Umbrella Group Of Neighborhood Homeowners’ Associations, And Incorporated As A 501c4 Organization. Thus Organized, UPCCA Was Able To Have A Say Regarding Development On The Main Thoroughfare Through Peachtree Corners, Peachtree Parkway (SR141), And The Surrounding Areas.

UPCCA Has Evolved Through The Years From A Group Defined By Opposition To Developers To A Group Defined By Its Vision For Peachtree Corners. This Meant UPCCA Viewed Developers And The County As Potential Partners And Not Always As Adversaries. Peachtree Parkway Looks As Good As It Does Because Of This Support For Certain Development And A Consistent Pattern Of Cooperation With The Gwinnett Planning Commission And The Board Of Commissioners. A Crowning Achievement Has Been The Peachtree Corners Overlay District, Established In 2007, As A Result Of The Consistent And Tenacious Work Of UPCCA.

An Important UPCCA Program Was The Peachtree Parkway Improvement Project (PPIP). Began In 2004 To 2013, The UPCCA Maintained 17 Parkway Medians Beginning At The “Split”, Where Peachtree Parkway Veers Off From Northbound Peachtree Industrial Boulevard All The Way To The Chattahoochee River. The Twice A Year Mowing By GDOT Was Not In Keeping With The Image Desired By The Residents And This Project Was Born Out Of Visual Necessity. It Was Funded By Voluntary Fair-Share Contributions Of Property Owner’s On The Parkway And Other Stakeholders.

As A Part Of The PPIP, A Gateway Monument Sign Announcing Peachtree Corners And The Paul Duke Parkway Was Installed In The Summer Of 2008. It Was Constructed On The Acreage At The “Split,” Where The Parkway Veers Off From Northbound Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. This Stretch Of Peachtree Parkway Was Designated The Paul Duke Parkway In 1999, For The Founder Of Peachtree Corners And Still Stands There Today.

In 2010 The UPCCA Participated In The Gwinnett Chamber Of Commerce’s “Partnership Gwinnett” By Branding Peachtree Corners Through Its Street Sign Topper Program, Through The Landscape Maintenance Program, And Through The Construction Of The Gateway Monument Sign. All Of These Efforts Signal That Peachtree Corners In Gwinnett County Is Indeed A Good Place To Live, Work And Play.
